A short easy trek running parallel to the high Himalayas. Good views all the way, beautiful camping by the lake at Devariyatal and some great forests. In the early spring the rhododendron forest glow red as the flowers bloom. The views from the Chandrashilla top will stay in one’s memory for really long.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrivel Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival. Transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Delhi – Rishikesh 250 kms / 5-6 hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive by haridwar to Rishikesh, lunch en route on arrivel chick in to hotel, evening visit temple and ashrams in Laxman Jhula & Ram Jhula Arti and overnight stay at hotel

Day 03: Rishikesh – Ukhimath (200 kms/7-8 hrs)
morning after breakfast drive to Ukhimath Devaprayag (Confluence of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi, from Devprayag the Holy river Ganges started), Rudraprayag (Confluence of Alaknanda & Mandakini River). lunch enroute. Arrival at Ukhimath by evening. Check into TRH. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 04: Ukhimath – Devariyatal (2440m) 4-5 hrs
after an early morning breakfast set out for the trek to Devariyatal. The trail goes past the village fields and into the forest. It’s gradual uphill all the way up to the beautiful lake of Devariyatal. and overnight stay at camp.

Day 05: Trek Devariyatal – Chopta (3000m) 6-7 hrs
The trail goes through the dense forest and stays on the ridge all the way to Tali. From here we descend for a while to cross a stream and then climb up gradually to reach Chopta, located in an idyllic setting having beautiful meadows and is surrounded by dense forests. And Overnight stay at camp.

Day 06: Trek Chopta – Tungnath (3680m) – Chandrashilla Top (4130m) – Chopta.
Start early in the morning and climb up to the temple of Tungnath and beyond. Tungnath, one of the Shiva temples is the highest temple in Garhwal and has definitely a certain mystical/religious aspect which is quite based on the spectacular surrounding and views from there. Views which go far beyond the simple “view of mountains”. The summit of the Chandrashilla peak provides a breathtaking 360 degree view. and overnight stay at Camp.

Day 07: Drive Chopta – Rishikesh 6-7 hrs
Morning after breakfast drive to rishikesh chick in hotel evening visit Ganga Arti and dinner overnight stay at hotel

Day 08: Rishikesh – Delhi
Morning after breakfast drive to Delhi. En route stop at Haridwar to visit Har-ki-Pauri ghat and temples. On arrival check-into hotel / drive to Airport
